Webinar: The New Kinematic Sequence
The Final Webinar of 2026, and it is the one we have all been waiting for.
The New Kinematic Sequence
For the past several years, the Jacobs 3D team has been studying, analyzing, and developing a new kinematic sequence module to examine how human movement unfolds in golf and sport.
In this webinar, we will introduce the defining principles of the New Kinematic Sequence, beginning with a brief history of how biomechanics has approached human sequencing—from everyday walking to athletic performance. We’ll explore what traditional methods describe, what they leave unanswered, and how our research expands the analysis of coordinated movement.
The golf industry’s current approach to kinematic sequencing falls well short of capturing the complexity of human movement.
Webinar Topics
Defining sequential movement: What sequencing means in human biomechanics.
A brief history: A review of previous methods for describing and analyzing the sequence of human movement.
The traditional golf kinematic sequence: Examining the pelvis–torso–arm–club rotational model and its limitations.
What makes our approach different: Introducing a broader analysis that includes all six degrees of freedom
Understanding the 17-segment model: How we represent the body to examine movement throughout the swing.
How fast do body segments move? A look at body segment speeds, expressed in miles per hour.
Understanding three-dimensional rotation: How a body segment rotates and why its motion requires a much more detailed analysis than golf’s current kinematic sequence
Amateur versus professional: An introductory comparison of two golf swings through the lens of the New Kinematic Sequence.
Future Kinematic Sequence Workshops and Videos
