US Senior Open Win!
Pádraig Harrington closed with a steady 67 to edge out Stewart Cink and Mark Hensby by a stroke, securing his 10th PGA Tour Champions victory. The 52-year-old had posted consecutive rounds of 67, followed by a 68, before sealing the win with a composed final round—two years after his first Senior Open title and three years after advice from Hale Irwin shaped his late-round strategy.
Coming down the 18th, Harrington recalled Irwin’s words, passed on by his caddie Ronan Flood: “Always hit the shot you would hit if you’re one behind.” With that clarity, Harrington attacked the pin, leaving himself eight feet and calmly two-putted for par to clinch the title.
The three-time Major winner, who owns two Open Championships and a PGA Championship among his 18 career wins, said the Champions Tour has given him a renewed joy for the game. “It’s unbelievable. We’re so much more relaxed now, enjoying it together. The Champions Tour is a new lease on life—you play with a different attitude, reliving and enjoying your past glories.”
Reacting to a 10th PGA Tour Champions win - an achievement which earned him $800,000 and a spot in the 2026 US Open - Harrington noted how confident decision making on the course during his first trip to The Centennial State resulted in his success.
