Webinar: Lag, Load and Release Kinetics
The second webinar of 2025 is scheduled for June 26th and will run for 90 minutes. This session will explore how golfers lag, load, and release the club using force and torque. Since the launch of Jacobs 3D in 2014, the Alpha, Beta, and Gamma component convention has become the best way to analyze how a golfer moves the club during the swing. The Alpha and Beta components serve as the primary inputs for generating lag and shaft lean. A deeper understanding of these elements can lead to a more efficient and powerful swing.

Visuals from Last Webinar
The April 2025 webinar, "Biomechanics for Non-Physics Majors," was a big hit. Key concepts such as Linear Momentum, Ground Forces, Club Forces, and The Golfer’s Hand Path serve as the foundation for understanding the biomechanics of a golf swing. During the session, I shared several video clips and screen recordings that many attendees expressed interest in viewing up close for further analysis.

Chen Wins Back to Back NCAA Events
“I recommend ‘movement hygiene' before speeding up the system.”
People often ask about the work Chen and I are doing, and the answer is: a lot! Recently, we’ve been concentrating on a few key areas: the right hip joint, the right side lateral line, the rotational timing and speed of his body segments, and how he redirects force at the bottom of his swing near impact.
I have never once pushed Chen to focus on speed; instead, I’ve prioritized movement hygiene, and as a result, he’s naturally achieved a ball speed of over 180 mph.
