New Golf Digest Best Teachers Recognition: One of the Top 10 Teachers in America

Michael Jacobs was voted by his peers as one of the Top 10 Golf Teachers in America 2024/2025

The Golf Digest Best Teachers list always holds special meaning for me because it’s a true peer vote. Thousands of teachers and coaches around the country choose who they believe are the best in each state and nationwide. So it’s a true honor and one of the highlights of my career to make it into the top ten on the prestigious 50 Best list for 2024-2025. All of the coaches at the top—including icons like Butch Harmon, David Leadbetter and Jim McLean, who have earned “legends” status from Golf Digest—are talented and dedicated to the craft.

I’m very proud to still be a public-course head professional. Teaching is my passion, but being in the golf shop every day at Rock Hill puts me right in the middle the action. And it gives me a special thrill when a player like Padraig Harrington comes out and hits balls in the same place you can come and work on your slice and play one of the best courses on Long Island for less than $100. NY has one of the strongest contingents of golf teachers of any state, and it’s a great honor to be listed with so many peers and friends I admire and respect on the Best in State list, too. Let’s all do our part in making golf better.
